Well my friends after months of thought about where I am going and what could happen I have decided to drop out of the mystical world of  "cool DJ names". I am setting up a new myspace (which will be posted soon), and getting a complete website make over and will simply be called by my name : Mikey Shanley.

Why? Well a few reasons for this. I won't go in to them all but for business, professional, personal, spiritual, and artistic reasons it seems to be best. I am not DJ Sirius, I am Mikey. In fact, Mikey was DJ Sirius. And I want you all to know me, Mikey. Anyone can claim to be DJ "Sirius" and while there are other Mikey Shanley's in the world, it just feels better. For business reasons it will make sense (which concern my artistic efforts, but not necessarily something you, the fans, need to worry about. In fact, getting into it will probably bore you).

So then, to really get around to WHY I am doing this is simple. I'm much more than a  DJ. And I feel that to kill confusion and keep you better connected with ALL of my projects, you can simply find/search for me, Mikey Shanley; rather than my DJ project "DJ Sirius" and my band project "insert band name here" and my solo project "insert solo name here" and so on. This way, you can go to one website and find all things Mikey, simply chose within the site where you want to go - DJ, Band, Solo, Writing...

I also feel this will help kill less confusion within myself. Having a concious separation (by being called different names in different social situations) keeps me separated, literally, within. Sometimes I am a DJ, sometimes I'm a guitarist, somtimes I Mikey from the block and other times I'm punk ass. But what if the separation stopped and the DJ melted into the guitarist and into the writer and sex star? So whats the point? The point is, if I'm Mikey and never a separation I feel the art will flow in many different ways and blossom on what I pride myself on, DIVERSITY and ORIGINALITY.  From this forward thinking you can expect a lot more from me. An album! What kind? Who knows, poetic rasta hip hop mixed with hard electro and rock and fucking roll. Maybe some crossdessing and tattoos- making fun of you out of the blue. Just kidding, you know I love you all and appreciate you.

Consider this a wild movement. The beats, the poet, the musican, the psycho are merging..it's me! Mikey!!! What will happen next???
