Not exactly known for it's revolutionary turnout of bands (although Billy Bragg came from just down the road in Barking), Dagenham may seem a strange place for a venue to promote Punk Rock gigs.

On the face of it, apart from being named checked in two songs called 'Dagenham Dave' (The Stranglers or Morrissey, take your pick) and the legendary Cock Sparrer's classic track, 'Last Train To Dagenham', and being linked forever to the town's only recognised Punk band, The Ejected, you'd struggle to find a connection between Dagenham and Punk Rock. That's because there wasn't one! But things change.

Always in the shadow of London's East End, Dagenham is an overspill town, which despite giving birth to it's fair share of sporting heros and actors, is frowned upon by all around! Pride and joy of the Town is it's local football club, Dagenham & Redbridge FC (until recently a non-league underdog, who finally achieved promotion to the Football League in 2006/7), which from the late 1990's has battled on the pitch far above it's weight and produced many a memorable footballing display for the locals.

Live gigs is a perfect way to raise a few quid for the club (which had one of the smallest playing budgets in the Conference National League, and now League 2) then, and Punk fans, both old and new a chance to see some of the older breed of bands still doing the rounds, plus a healthy dose of the newer breed of UK bands around from the 1990's to today!!

Since early 2005 in aid of the, Support The Daggers Fund, Daggers Punk have been putting on punk gigs at Dagenham and Redbridge Football Club. Both 'PUNK NIGHTS' and 'PUNK ALLDAYERS' have been held in the football club in the past, and all have been a success and well enjoyed by everyone who attended. A few of the bands who have played here before are: VICE SQUAD, DRONGOS FOR EUROPE, DEADLINE, 999, THE VIBRATORS, The BRIEFS (USA), THE HATEPINKS (France), DEMOB, CRASHED OUT, HOLY RACKET, Dun2Def, DEAD IDENTITIES, MAD MUSH, SUSPECT DEVICEAIRBOMB, LOVE AND A .45, DIRTY LOVE, THE ANORAKS, THE PORK DUKES, ED TUDOR POLE, THE FUCKWITS, JOANOVARC, SICK ON THE BUS, GUNS ON THE ROOF, RED FLAG 77, VAS DEFERENS, MIDDLE FINGER SALUTE, TOXIC SLUT, THE SHARONS, ANTI~BODIES, BLACK RADIO and BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED. (Not forgetting DJ ROCKULA spinning the discs).

If you're a punk fan from the area (or well, even if you're not!) please add us and let your friends know about us... come and listen to great music with your fellow local punks and at the same time help raise money for the Daggers!

Dagenham and Redbridge is a family friendly club, and all ages are welcome.

AND NOW! In association with the new Bridge House 2 (BH2) venue in Canning Town DAGGER'S PUNK will be presenting frequent and regular punk nights and alldayers at that venue. Upcoming events will include THE VAS DEFERENS, DIRTY LOVE, LEFT FOR DEAD, DUN2DEF, ANORAKS, DEMOB, TOTAL CHAOS (from the U.S.A.), CERTIFIED, DRONGOS FOR EUROPE, DRAGSTER, DANGER'S CLOSE, DEAD IDENTITIES, MIDDLE FINGER SALUTE, HEADCOUNT, THE GUNDOGS, OCTOBER FILE, THE CUTE LEPERS (with Steve E. Nix of THE BRIEFS), RED FLAG 77 and many more artists. So keep your eyes peeled for info.
