Soul/R&B singer Jaguar Wright returns with a new EP and a new sound. The Philly-born singer will take the stage on Thursday, October 8th, 2009 for a highly anticipated ..New York City.. performance at ..SoHo..’s legendary SOB’s. The singer will perform songs from her new EP, “Beautiful,” due in stores on November 24th via GMUSIC and Sony Music Entertainment (IODA).

“With a voice that speaks directly to the soul, Jaguar Wright is a presence in music that can neither be ignored nor denied,” writes Natalia Francis in The Philadelphia Intelligencer. Jaguar Wright’s new EP, “Beautiful” (GMUSIC), is a continuation of the artist’s personal dialogue with her audience. The four tracks are the single, “Beautiful,” “I’m Not Yours,” “Surely” and “Put It Down.” All of the songs were written by Jaguar and produced by fellow Philadelphians Ivan Barias & Carvin Haggins. Dave Kutch (Alicia Keys, John Legend) mastered the EP. The single “Beautiful” is available at http://www.myspace.com/jaguarwright, and the EP is due in stores November 24, 2009.
The release of “Beautiful” marks the 10 year anniversary of Jaguar’s critically-acclaimed debut album, “Denials, Delusions and Decisions,” (MCA Records). Her follow-up, “Divorcing Neo 2 Marry Soul” was equally embraced by critics and fans alike.
In her interview with The Intelligencer’s Francis, Wright says “I'm writing about everything and finding the song in everything. Of course, it will be soul music. Some people might compare it or say it's more reminiscent of R&B, but I write from my heart, I write from my soul."
Jaguar moved to soul music’s forefront in 2001 when she took the stage alongside Jay Z for his unforgettable live performance for “MTV Unplugged.” Backed by Philly hip hop band The Roots, Jaguar Wright rocked the stage, blowing the audience away with her vocal prowess. Jaguar Wright has also taken her career into her own hands and has engaged top management with Guion Partners – Agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA).
