OFS ended 2008 in style - though our gig at Manhattan Bar was cancelled on 20th Dec - like fate - we got a call within hours of posting our cancelled gig from Lynn of the fab Cross Keys.
What a fantastic night we had there, as we always do. Not only the run up to Xmas but was Di's birthday too.
Was brilliant to see several members of Rooster too who had a laugh with us. Andy Rooster kindly stepping up to sing with us - Slades 'Merry Christmas' twice!!! and then Di stepping up and having a little dabble on drums with Andy again taking vocals on, for what was for us Spiders, a slow Teenage Kicks. But was great fun.
Was the launch of our 'merchandise' too, we now have some fab badges for you to purchase - give away prices - 1 x 50p or 3 for a Quid! OR Buy 6 get 1 Free - now how can you resist?
Always a great night at the Cross Keys.
New Years Eve took us to The Queen in Hunslet where we enjoyed a cracking young band The Irregulars who got the punters rocking well for us.
A really terrific young band go see them!
We did our best to follow them and what a brilliant end to 2008 we had- great crowd - good humour - and got paid to boot - what more could we ask for? Look forward to going back in 2009!
One Fat Spider wishes everyone that has supported us through 2008 and hope you continue to do so through 2009 and beyond. Bring yer mates!
A Very Very Happy New Year to you All
