Well hardly seeing the join from 2008 to 2009 - we started like we hope we going to go on at The Cricketers , Horbury on Friday 2nd Jan 2009

We expected a handful of people only after the Xmas festivities thinking most would be skint and stopping in.  How wrong we were, was a fantastic night with a great crowd - which was amazing – thanks to all who came!

Loads of familiar faces and a lot of new ones –and some good friends like Nathan of  Grumpy Old Men – The guys fromSore Point.  Graham Houghton of what was Shame the Devil with Hazel his lovely wife and budding bassist!

And for Sue - Lincoln J Roth - or as Paul called him - Lawrence Lleweynn-Bowen and his fab lady Jackie.  Some of you may know what an incredible and I mean incredible bassist Lincoln is - of The Chantel McGregor Band and before that Emerald and The Fandango Bros and gawd knows who else.

Was an honour and the following he posted on Rock of the North and Sue is still buzzing!!!!

Lincoln – 4/1/2009

HI RoTNers.
I finally got to see One Fat Spider the other day. If you like the set list you'll LOVE the band (I didn't know that many of the songs but Jackie knew all of them I think). The band were really enjoyable, I haven't laughed so much for ages. Jackie (Mrs Lawrence Llewelyn-Bowen) liked it too. Paul is a quick and funny front man. Sue (and in fact anyone who succeeds in putting a band together and making it work)is an incredible woman and she's such a nice lady too. They all seem to enjoy what they do as a band and it comes across well...

One Fat Spider....Thanks for the show.
RoTNers.. go and see them.

Later

Rock of the North

We've had OFS on two of our RotN events because they entertain. They're decent honest people as well, who I like. There's a lot of different sub-genres of rock and OFS chose the modern path which is a pleasant change and with a repertoire that suits many! Thanks for supporting the band Lincoln

What else can we say but Woohoo Bring on 2009!
