Current mood: happy Category: Travel and Places
We arrived here on December 16th, 2008 & today marks our 2 month anniversary living in Washington. Except for the lack of a job for both my brother & i, we are enjoying it here a great deal. =) It is extremely pretty here. There are a lot of trees, mountains, deer, elk, eagles, falcons, hawks, moose & really pretty scenery.
We aren't sure how long we will be staying in my sister's house. The area where her house was built isn't finished. They stopped building because of the economy & the housing market but the homes that are here right now are really beautiful. Liberty Lake is a really nice area. Madeline is enjoying Liberty Lake Elementary school & already has a few friends. Alison is being "homeschooled" by my mom for now. She should be starting Kindergarten in September.
Dad is enjoying his retirement. Once the cold weather goes away he will enjoy it even more because then he will be outside a lot more on bike rides & walks. My sister will continue to reside in Montana until we find a home of our own & for now the 7 of us, which includes my parents, brother, sister-in-law, 2 nieces & myself, are living here comfortably. Well I should say the 8 of us because I couldn't leave Daisy out of the family
I'm was given a job opportunity from a Kindercare here in Spokane which I am hoping to hear back from soon. I will also be attending school at Spokane Falls Community College at the beginning of April. I won't be a full time student anymore. The cost of community colleges here are RIDICULOUS & they go by credits & not units. I would have been considered a resident of Washington if I or my parents had lived here for a year or so but because we haven't I am considered a resident with a waiver which is cheaper than being a non-resident but still rather expensive. To take a 5 credit class it would cost me $510 & that is just for one class. Now if I was a resident it would be about $200 less I believe. So if I wanted to have 12 credits it would cost me $1,046! So yeah...that won't be happening anytime soon.
I've been posting pictures that show what we've been doing & things we've seen here & the changes in the weather. It has been snowing off & on but it hasn't been cold enough to stick to the ground for very long. There are still patches of snow around the neighborhood & around the town & outlying towns as well. It has been warming up a bit with it being in the upper 20's at night & during the day it can be anywhere between 35-41 degrees or so. It differs. It is currently 41 degrees outside but I'm not sure if they are factoring in the windchill =( The windchill is NO fun! It's A LOT better when there is no wind to deal with. Doesn't look like we will be having much snow in the next week. Mostly cloudy & or sunny out.
Daisy absolutely loves the snow when it's around. She usually eats it up or licks at it as much as she can. Sometimes if she's being too wild she gets too excited & chokes on it. =)
Well I'll be giving more updates & whatnot. Definitely be posting more pictures. I am really excited to be here & can't wait for the adventures that are coming & the ones that we currently don't know about. I miss everyone in California & I hope to see you all soon. If the job thing doesn't pan out I might be able to get a flight out to California this summer for a birthday present & if not someone can always come visit me (hint hint) =) I hope you all are doing well & I love & miss you all lotz! =)
Much love, Sarah
