PLAYTIME RECORDS "It's so rave it hurts, and so slinky it will make you want to make beautiful love to the speakers - which is the kind of split personality we've always wanted in the label... Raves from Crookers, Garnier, Fil OK, Tomboy, Justin Robertson, Luke Solomon, Rodamaal, Philip Sherburne ... and even Zdar from Cassius, which made us breakdance round the office. Out now!"
REVIEWS : DATA TRANSMISSION Hannah Holland BANSHEE Reviewed by:alx_glen Rating:8/10
Hannah Holland, best known for being the first lady of the popular East London night Trailer Trash releases her debut single on Playtime Records.
Clearly the thousands upon thousands of gigs have seeped into Hannah's psyche as this track begs for a packed dancefloor and a huge array of speakers. Starting with a filtered beat and fuzzy electronics the track is a dream to mix with. Quickly morphing into a dark tech-house groover the deep, echoing mid-section is hypnotic and upbeat. Sprinkle a wonky acid synth line on the top and you've got a track suited to the sweatiest, most cavernous dancefloors in the land.
Mike Monday is on the remix and his mix has a slower, more measured build-up. More ethereal and minimal than the original Mike uses warm, sweeping trippy synths and impecciably timed high-hats to create an encompassing groove. Very satisfying, expect to hear these two tracks a lot in the coming months.
