Current mood:  excited

Hello beautiful souls, I decided it was probably time for a new blog! I haven't written in a while and there is so much to tell! Firstly, I have just returned from Port Fairy Folk Festival, where I was treated like royalty with my 'performers pass' haha, ma and I felt super cool hanging out in the greenroom. I have to say, PF was one of the nicest festivals I have been to! The people were so friendly and you could tell that everyone was there for the music - though there was still the odd number of young socialites running around 'buzzed' and kissing boys. Ma and I drove the 10 hours to Melbourne and stayed with the lovely Lachlan and his girl Amy for the night before we drove to Port Fairy. After Lach's tales, I am now convinced that there is a ghost in their guest room and I stayed up half the night trying to meet it, though much to my disappointment I did not :( When ma and I arrived in Port Fairy the next day we had to set up a tent, and for everyone who knows me, they would know that 'outdoor activities' are definitely not my forte and for those campers next to us, I'm sure they could recognize my lack of experience in setting up a tent, as ma and I spent the better half of our days wondering why the top of our tent was flat and somewhat wonky. I'm not sure what ma's excuse is, as she is a seasoned camper, being the little hippie she is! Anywaaaaay, I'm drifting of... I got to see and meet some amazing muso's. The last night of the festival was free drinks night for the performers which was a great night! I made some great friends in the red stick ramblers - a band from Louissiana. They taught me how to speak in their accents and they rather enjoyed making fun of my weak southern accented attempts at asking people if they'd eaten food; "chyeeat yet? yaaant to?" haha. The shows I played were absolutely awesome! They were at this little surf club on the top of a hill over looking the beautiful beach! The sound guy, Anthony, did such an amazing job on sound and I sold quite a number of records, so I was content! I spent a lot of time in the many book shops that Port Fairy has and came home with a few more books and some vinyls, which I am very pleased with. The only disappointment from Port Fairy was the fact that I didn't have my best friend Jodie with me, I spent most of the days whinging to mum "Jodie should be heeeere!, Jodie would love this!, Why isn't Jodie here!?" By the end of the week, ma and I were both extremely tired and broke as I had been spending all of her money! Haha. We got home early tuesday morning and I went straight to rehearsals with the band for my ep launch the next night! And oh my, was that one of the most special nights of my entire existance! I had over 100 beautiful people turn up to support me and an amazing band to play my songs. So to any of you who came to the launch, I want to thank you from right inside my heart. The night went so fast and I'm sorry that I didn't get to spend more time talking to people, but thank you thank you thank you, if it weren't for you coming along, I'd have been playing to no one and I would have been a sad girl! Though I have to thank my ma and pa for all of the effort they put in to helping organise this launch, I DEFINITELY would NOT have been able to do this without them. They are my biggest supporters and they do more for me than anyone in the world. I am pretty bummed that it's over now, it feels like it never happened, but now I have some new and exciting things to work towards! I am leaving for Melbourne on Saturday to play some shows, which I absolutely cannot wait for! I just want to get to the Museum in Melbourne and check out some sweet record stores! Then after my shows in Melbourne I'll be heading straight off to Apollo Bay Music Festival which I have been anxiously waiting to come around for the past year!! I had the best time last year and I cannot wait for this years festival! So if you're going to be there come and dance with me! Wow, I've written quite a monologue here. I think I'm fresh out! Hopefully someone will actually read all of this! I love you all! Peace, love, light and smiles. xoxoxoxoxox

Wow, what an enjoyable read, Caitlin. Glad you had a good time at Port Fairy. At least it sure sounds like you did. And I sure wish I could have made it to your EP launch, but I'm sure you'll understand why I couldn't...It's much longer than 10 hours for me to get there, and I couldn't take my car...LOL!

Glad to hear it was a good turnout and hope you can post some pics from both events. I love seeing pics..
