Lots to update on. The 18th was meant to be our gig at the Moorfoot Tavern in Sheffield, but with it being so near to United's ground the police told the venue they'd have to close, due to the risk of
derby-related trouble.
The 19th was a day of recording at the
Bonkers residence. Joe piloted the tape recorder whilst we recorded three songs for two top secret projects, which will be unveiled soon.
The 25th was our gig with Jessica's Ghost and The Big I Am at Fluid Live Lounge in St. Helens.
Setlist
Nice Day For a Coat
(Baby) I Stopped Loving You (Long Ago)
10p Mix
Sorry
Sticky Disco
Rocking Out
There Is A Light That Never Goes Out (a The Smiths cover)
The Dogs In France
The Big I Am were as good as they were last time we played with them (earlier in the month!), whilst Jessica's Ghost had improved substantially (it's been years since I last saw them), and now had a violinist.
On the 26th we did a last-minute support slot at the Cabin Club for Matt from Glasswerk's new Cabin Fever club night. We were on first and played for not an awful lot of people.
Gemma and her good lady wife turned up though, and were most appreciative. Also appreciative were the other audience members (about 15 had gathered by the end of the set), the sound guy on the sound, and the wooden horse who lives in the Cabin's cellar.
Setlist
Televisual Song
Sorry
10p Mix
Sticky Disco
Once and Never Again (Long Blondes cover)
My Horse (first performance, dedicated to the wooden horse)
Rocking Out (dedicated to Crafty Freddie, who soundchecked before us, played after us, and rocked quite a lot)
The Dogs In France
We didn't stick around to see all of the bands (Gemma is a force of nature, and insisted we went and got tequila), but we enjoyed Crafty Freddie, and what we heard of Little Miss Strange. We gave out quite a few badges, which made us realise we actually don't have that many left. Shall order some more soon.
