Question#2-

Q- What have you missed most since the Haitus of dctalk?

A- this is a strange question.....if you mean what do i miss about being in dctalk, i would have to say the early years...being a comrade in arms with my fellow band members, dancers, crew and partners....a band is easy to be in because everyone fulfills an immediate task...but being in dctalk was like being in a traveling circus....there were the 3 of us, singing, rapping, dancing, crowd-surfing, talking, preaching etc...and then the band and dancers that backed us.....the band made the music happen...and we performed the songs....there was such a feeling of unity and teamwork in the early days...but i think the bigger dctalk became...the harder it was to keep all of that in check.....i was probably to blame just as much as anyone....we get our feelings hurt too easily because we are on a stage where everyone is watching.....we build a thick skin, but behind the lights and the curtain, we are just normal people with human needs and human qualities....

Yes. The early years were great. That's what my memories are most of dc talk. I was in high school.
Besides dc talk, what lay inside my 'tape player' were U2, Stryper, and a list too long to type of various christian/secular music.
I had forgotten how all 3 of you were very strong and talented in each of your own way. You weren't like one strong guy and the others who supported. You all brought something to the table. I enjoyed how you all would at different times step back and the other would take the spot light.
Now that's teamwork.
But yeah. People are people.

K-dawg-

I never thought I would be able to empathize witha person like you on this point. As a youngster, I was inspired by DCTALK, and I eventually became a musician myself. I have played music my whole life as a result of this inpiration. I have to say that you are right, the small beginnings are magic, and if you are lucky sustained magic. I have been part of large ensembles as well as small, and you are right, there is a mix of egos that really can destroy relationships, as a matter of mistake, misconception, and plain-out frustration.

I am on Hiatus myself from the Musical scene as a result of burn out and need for respite, reflection, and inner noise.-Moses

I loved teh camaraderie you all had in the early years, but the musical style was more what I listened to later on. I've thought it must be difficult to stay real and be a musician of any stature. I imagine the natural tendency would be to become guarded. Of course, you are normal people. :) Well... maybe..... (JK)

you all need to definitely keep everything in perspective and in check Christ is the one who you need to make sure that you are glorifying in the music otherwise you may forget why your doing what your doing and forget to keep things in check and like john reuben said its not me and its not about you and not even about the music he was talking about life in general but he stayed right there its about Christ keep that in perspective and give it all to Him and just ask Him or dare Christ to blow your mind i dont know if dare is the right word to use but i think you know what I mean
