Hello My Lovely Hens!

How are you dolls? I am good. I just spent over two hours blogging about my latest experiences and life advice I had after my life experiences and thanks to the backspace button, it ended up causing my page to go "back" and deleted everything.

I am so frustrated right now because I talked about how I haven't had time to blog because of my busy schedule and then when I make time right now, everything got deleted. Urgh!!! I'll revisit what I wrote previously another day (ha!).

Before you read on, please excuse any typos or any grammatical errors I will be making. It's about 3 am and by the time I am done writing this blog, it will be about 4am. I have a gig at 8am, so I need to get to bed asap and hence, will not be able to revise my blog.

Okay, so a brief update on your's truly! I am doing great. I got a haircut recently and it's pretty short. It's a great cut and I wanted a shorter length because I'm over the long hair looking flat on my head when I do not style it, but I'm not used to it. I think I need about a week or two to start loving my cut. :D I cut off about 5 inches so you can just imagine my shock!

YOUR'S TRULY IS PLANNING HER WEDDING!

That's right! It's finally MY turn to plan my wedding! How exciting is this?! I am having oodles of fun planning my wedding. SB and I have so many ideas in mind and it's all about execution. I have had everything planned since I was a child. I've made changes to stay current with latest trends but the overall idea is the same lol! I can't tell you the theme yet and what we plan to do, but you can best believe it will be a funfilled event!! I think I found my wedding dress. It's just a matter of finding a store that has it in stock for me to try it on. It seems as though there are not many stores like Kleinman's where you can go a try on a zillion dresses. All the places I've seen have been limited in their selection for trying on dresses (not sizes but wrt not even carrying the dress I want)! Boo. But I am determined nonetheless. I will find my dress even if SB has to drive me many many miles away! Haha.

I have my flowers lined up and pretty much everything else. I found my church and my reception (my family's restaurant Paracel Seafood - beautiful, spacous venue with the best Vietnamese food in town)! Can't wait until the day comes. Not sure if you know...I'm sure you do, but just in case...I'm madly in love with the man of my dreams! I was never a sappy, emotional person before. But with my love dove, I cry over everything that involves the idea of LOVE. I know right?! Love makes you feel crazy things lol! I think I'm going to be crying like heck on our big day!!! :D AND partying it up in a party bus at the same time!! LOL!!! Skip the limo and let's go straight to the party bus lol!!!

KATIE B & KBC GIVING BACK

I've been doing this for quite some time now and have not really been saying much..well because I haven't had time to blog! I miss blogging and being able to share my life experiences and adventures with you all. I will try my best to blog more often ;D!

I don't even know where to begin when I talk about how long I've been giving back. I'll try to make it brief!

I have the biggest heart in the world! Too big that it's to a fault! Since I was young I always wanted to do something to "save the world." For example when I got my license, I would give women who were walking on their streets when their grocery bags a ride home. I know it sounds crazy in our soceity today but I really did do it! These Vietnamese ladies told me that they were walking home from the supermarket because their older children were working and they did not know how to use public transportation. I knew that they would need a ride home because there would be no houses within their vincity. I felt so bad for them and felt their pain from their disconnect from an English speaking community. So I wanted to "save" them. There were times when I was at the pharmacy waiting for my presciption and saw elder people who could barely walk come to pick up their presciptions. I would talk to them and offer them rides home (in my 1980 - yes 1980 in 1998 - blue or whatever paint was left Honda). They gladly accepted and I was more than offer to give a helping hand/ride!

Then there were times when I wanted to help save my grandfather and people in his poverty stricken village in Vietnam and felt helpless. I felt that no matter what I did and how much money I could give, it was never enough and I was often discouraged and frustrated! I was really sad. Then one day, I talked to my law professor about my life and my life goals and she gave me one of the best advice ever. She knew I was sad, she told me "Katie B - do what you can. That's all you can do." That statement changed my life because instead of being frustrated and sad, I redirected my mind to always think that if I helped others, I was still helping another and making a difference.

All of the above goes to what I did and am currently doing now. I'm finally writing about it because I think it's important for me to help promote random acts of kindness. I do it all the time and having been doing it since I was a kid. In fact, I have been doing random acts of kindness even before I learned about the term in high school and was told to do it! Seriously! I have been able to help out a few people who honestly cannot afford me or in a life situation where they need a little bit of a 'picker upper.' Unfortunately, I will not be saving the world as I had hopedsince I was a child (haha), but I was at least saving a person from a btter/unpleasant experience they are having with the world (or life). I will not be able to help them out of their financial situation, their illness, or their sadness or heartbeak, but I can at least bring a huge smile and confidence in oneself, and the confidence in the kindheartness of humanity back to the person receiving my deed. After all, it's the best I can do right? :D Thanks to the reminder of my best pal, I have been given the gift to transform others with my artistry and with that, I shall make an effort to utilize my gift to the fullest!

I hope that you will think of and execute a random act of kindness today and whenever you can. The smile that you bring to another's face and to know that you made a difference (even though you may consider it small, your act may be the biggest thing to the person receiving your act), is worth a million bucks!

With that said, I hope you dolls have a smashing day!I am off to work in a few!! It should be an exciting day!

Be inspired and inspire others...life is as beautiful as you make it,

Say something funny!

That's very considerate of you because the elderly are often the most forgotten. Small deeds like that are the most rewarding. I have worked for the hospice a few years ago and have met the most amazing retirees ever! They are compassionate, insightful and cooler than we all know. They are extremely committed to the well being of others and best of all, they are volunteers! Working with them was one of the best life changing experience. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Best wishes!
