It's a showdown!

City Paper and Y-Rock/WXPN have squared off, pitting their favorite bands against each other in a battle royale. We've been thrown into the ring to compete against such Philadelphia heavyweights as the A-Sides, Paint it Black, The Teeth, Spinto Band, YMD, Adam Arcuragi, and Zolof the Rock 'n' Roll Destroyer. Y-Rock has selected Man Man, Dr. Dog, The Swimmers, Capitol Years, The Loved Ones, Illinois, Jotto and Bitter Bitter Weeks.

The winning band from the City Paper 8 will face off against the winning band from the Y-Rock 8 next week. Beginning March 12th, the winning bands from each side will battle to be the Y-Rock Vs. City Paper Philly Rock Shootout Champions. We've been told the victor will win spots on two music festivals this summer. You can read Pat Rapa's article about the whole deal here.


Needless to say, we feel a little bit like Rocky going up against Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang and Ivan Drago all at the same time. So take it upon yourself to play Adrian...or Paulie...or Mickey....and help us out in our corner and vote for us.
