Well what an experience that was!

The Bamboos rocked the little old Yirdbird off it`s perch!
The band, playin after a heavy night in Camden, came on stage and blasted throught an awsome 30 minute Live mix tape of their finest instrumentals. Tunes like "The Witch" and "Happy" were a true lesson in heavy deep funk. Remaining  amazingly tight throughout.

The presecnce of The Bamboos up-front live singing temptress, Kylie Auldist, was our next joy. This girl can wail! Bringing the place alive with big smiles and a voice that brings complete justice to the whole band.  "Step it Up" and "Bring it Home" were stand outs for me, recreating Alice Russell`s origonal versions spot on.
The set wound up with the "Tighten Up" and boy was it tight!  It was such an experience to watch it play in such a small venue. A a trombone solo and massive drum breaks added to the flavours and made the Yardbird bounce.
An encore was always on the cards and they didn`t disapoint. The Band played the night out with a heavy verion of  "Amen Brother" sent out to the late great James Brown r.i.p. Lance and the guys really did Birmingham a favour and showed us what live Funk is all about. Cheers guys!

Lots of booze and merchandise had by all, making this a great night. Our double headed funk extraganza continues next month with thePoets Of Rhythm, hailling all the way from Gremany. Once again to no doubt bring The Yardbird to it`s knees!

Check it out Saturday 16th June,  tickets at The Ticket Sellers

Cheers Everyone for their hard work.
  Easy now, Revo
