Lights...Camera...Girl Scouts!

You may know that Keke Palmer from "Akeelah and the Bee," and Dakota Fanning and her younger sister Elle, are proud members of the Girl Scouts of the USA.  And thousands of Girl Scouts before Keke and Dakota have grown to become women of courage, confidence and character, and lead outstanding lives as mothers, teachers, business leaders, athletes, actresses and more, including:

Sandra Day O'Connor

Madeleine Albright

Laura Bush

Hillary Rodham Clinton

Chelsea Clinton

Tipper Gore

Elizabeth Dole

Gloria Steinem

Ann Landers

Barbara Walters

Star Jones

Jane Pauley

Katie Couric

Candace Bergen

Mary Tyler Moore

Celine Dion

Sheryl Crow

Natalie Merchant

Rebecca Lobo

Venus Williams

Susan Taylor (Essence magazine)

Virginia Edwards (Education Week)

Many more influential women – who were all Girl Scouts – can be found at http://girlscouts.org/.

I love this list...only an amazing organization like ours could turn out such incredible and influential women.

Girl Scout Troop 1176

This is a great thing to pass along to parents that are not really active in our troops.  They can see positive women that have benefitted and became successful leaders from the values and committment of being a GIRL SCOUT!   I love seeing these names again, and will re-use them at tomorrow's meeting!!

This is great, and I've seen a larger list somewhere online, but it might help to have more names of current Girl Scouts like Kiki Palmer. I've met a couple of girls that say those are all old people. I know that they are not all old, but it would be nice to show them that other girls they are more aware of are also Girl Scouts.
