We had a chance to talk to one of the speakers with the Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital's Cruizin' Not Boozin' program, a community outreach initiative in southeastern Pennsylvania that allows patients who have survived drug or alcohol related vehicle crashes to share their firsthand accounts with young drivers.
Michael Vozzelli tells how making a bad decision the night he turned 21 changed his life forever.
Vozzelli is just one of the speakers with the Cruizin' Not Boozin' program and his message includes a warning to young drivers who think they are invincible – like he once thought.
"It only takes one time and the consequences could be devastating," he says.
Like Lookin' Out, the Byrn Mawr program uses peer-to-peer influence to encourage young drivers to be safe and responsible.
