This was posted on the Rockabilly Hall of Fame website and also copied
and sent to me by a friend. This was a few months before Billy Lee passed
and when this show started coming in to action. It has now turned into not
only a benefit for Billy and his Family...but a TRIBUTE to one of
Rock-n-Rolls greatest!
 Like many artists of his day, he recieved very little, if any royalties
at all from his label. Remember, Sun was struggling indy back then which
made Billy and others, struggling performers. Billy remained playing shows
until his illness absolutely would not let him anymore. A true music man.
 I've been posting fliers all over the internet and handing out postcards...
Here is the letter posted on Rockabilly Hall of Fame that got this ball
rolling. Below that is the show poster. Pass it around, print it...most of
all, please come and enjoy three of Michigan's best bands and honor one of
America's Greatest contributers to Rock-n-Roll!!
Billy Lee passed on Sunday August 2nd at 5:20 am. He was said to have passed
peacefully with his family at his bedside. Thank you for everything, Billy.

Billy Lee Riley ...one of the remaining original Sun Records artists, Is
in VERY bad need of help! Billy has had his share of health problems,
and is now battling Stage FOUR bone cancer. Although musicares is
helping with house payment, car and such, He and Joyce are totally out
of money and can barely afford to eat.

This is a CALL FOR HELP to all musicians and fans. Please remember,
twenty bucks from all of us would make a HUGE difference in Billy's
life! What if this was you?

Let's all get together and send something today to Billy and Joyce and
show them that he means alot to us.
