This year's French Quarter Festival was a raging success. Attendance was high, the weather was great, and the music was stellar. I was able to see a good many of the bands, and had a great time walking around the festival. One of the great things about the French Quarter Fest is that I always end up seeing local bands that I rarely get to hear or that I haven't heard yet.
One of highlights was seeing Big Blue Marble at the U.S. Mint Stage. I hadn't seen them before, and It was nice to see a rock band that had interesting changes, good melodies and well put together song structures. The crowds were loving the music and a nice breeze seemed to come off of the river to keep everyone cool.
