I have been trying to record guitar tracks for my new LP, as well as the 'Parallels' album, using my live guitar rig - a Peavey VK100 head being the amp of choice. I sold it for a few mics, some cables, and a solid-state amp more suitable for recording at medium volumes in a studio setting. I couldn't get the correct amount of saturation at usable levels with the tube amp, no matter what I did - now I have full saturation with the volume at 1. As for the mics.... I now officially have 12 track simultaneous recording capabilities, because I have that many mics available. I think I'll be posting ads and opening the studio doors soon. Seems like I decided somewhere along the lines that I'd rather record than play out. I'm content with that, honestly - I'm HORRIBLE live. I still want to do some clinics in the near future, but recording is SO much more fun!
Anyone else want to record with me? LET'S PLAY!!! I'm down for whatever, isn't it supposed to be fun? I'll sing, play guitar, bass or drums, keyboards... let's JAM, and record that shit!!
