IMMEDIATE DISTRIBUTION

Diana Mera in Cornerstone's world premiere

For All Time in Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES, October 21, 2008 Arizoni Awards Nominee Diana Mera is now part of Cornerstone Theater Company in Los Angeles, CA and will be acting in For All Time a play by prestigious screen play writer KJ Sanchez, directed by Laurie Woolery. This is Diana's first work in English and her second professional play after The Vagina Monologues (Spanish Version) where she was nominated as best supporting actor by the Arizoni Awards. For All Time is the third production in the Company's Justice Cycle, a four-year series of plays exploring how laws shape and disrupt communities. Each play in the cycle centers on a different justice-related theme including documentation and immigration, reproductive rights, criminal justice, and the environment.  For All Time will run from October 30 to November 23, 2008 at Shakespeare Festival/LA in downtown Los Angeles.

Mera has been casted for three roles; Avrora, an activist that fights for the rights of the victims with a special style and sarcasm; Officer Avila, a correctional officer who is very tough but has a heart of gold; and Erika, a prisoner who is a passionate gangster and doesn't believe in justice. "I am grateful with Cornerstone and Laurie for letting me be part of this important project; specially because the play talks about real people and the meaning of justice. Also, as I go to every rehearsal I am becoming a fan of all the other actors, they are terrific" said Diana Mera.

For All Time presents an in-depth look into the social, familial, and economic impact of criminal actions, the process of judgment and the system of incarceration. Created in collaboration with prisoners, formerly incarcerated, victims, family members, public defenders, prosecutors, activists and advocates, For All Time brings stories of crime and punishment to life and raises questions about the nature of retribution and the endless cycle of violence.

Diana's fans will be delighted to see her perform in a very intimate setting and appreciate her acting as they have always appreciated her music.

Let the punishment fit the crime…a simple principle at the center of a complex network of laws and ethics. As citizens trust in a system that places judgment and retribution in the hands of a few mortal individuals, is true justice even possible? As the state sends more offenders to prison, does crime actually pay?

Created in collaboration with All Saints Church in Pasadena, the California Institute for Women, Families to Amend California's Three Strikes (FACTS), Partnership for Re-Entry Program (PREP), and South Asian Network (SAN).
