Wassup MySpace Fam!!

As some of you know, I am a HUGE roller coaster fanatic. I sleep roller coasters, I breathe roller coasters, I eat roller coasters, and I dream roller coasters...lol. When it comes to this medium, I am just a big kid seeking the next big thrill. If you are seeking white-knuckling, screamer thrills, then this blog may be for you! We are approaching Memorial Day weekend, so I decided it was time to inform you of the new thrills some of our favorite theme parks are offering this year.

Fahrenheit - Hershey Park, Hershey PA

http://www.hersheypark.com/index.php

Hershey Park has chosen a spectacular thrill machine as their 11th coaster.  Fahrenheit  is  121 ft-tall steel roller coaster consisting of a 90 degree lift hill and 97 degree first drop, which is the steepest in the US. THAT is just the beginning,  for along its 2,700 ft  course, passengers will experience elements that have never been experienced before! The ride consists  of a 107  ft tall inverted loop, inverted  corkscrew roll,  Cobra element,  airborne inverted S roll,  inverted corkscrew rolls, airtime hills, and high-speed/banked curves.  THIS ride will be my personal destination this year.

The Dominator - Kings Dominion, Roswell VA

http://www.kingsdominion.com/

Kings Dominion has received what is, in my opinion, the best floorless roller coaster. The Dominator was formerly located at the now-defunct Geauga Lake amusement park in Ohio. It was also formerly known as Batman Knight Flight when Six Flags had temporary ownership of the park.  The coaster will be a highly anticipated addition to Kings Dominion theme park. Built by B&M, the three-train attraction consists of 4210 feet of track, reaching a max height of 161 ft with speeds up to 65 mph. During the three-minute journey, riders will encounter a 135 ft vertical loop,  two cobra rolls,  two interlocking corkscrew loops and a series of highly-banked turns. The best thing about this new attraction is that it is located in the front, International Street, section of the park, in the vicinity of the Berserker looping ship ride! I am excited to see how this dynamic coaster fits into its new surroundings. Like I said earlier, I consider it the best floorless coaster built to date, after riding it last summer at Geauga Lake.

Dark Knight - Six Flags Great Adventure,  Jackson NJ

http://www.sixflags.com/greatadventure/index.aspx

Six Flags continues to deliver thrilling, yet carbon-copied, attractions this year. Debuting at three Six Flags parks (Six Flags Great America and Six Flags New England (Now postponed)), Dark Knight is another multi-media gem that will be tied in with the hype and promotions of the new Batman: Dark Knight movie opening this summer.  There is limited information about all of the specific details, but from what I have read and seen, it's an enclosed, wild-mouse type of coaster that will consist of interactive elements. It will definitely be a ride the whole family can enjoy, thrills we can always expect from Six Flags.  Construction is complete at Six Flags Great Adventure and Great America as anticipation builds toward its debut. Due to zoning challenges encountered  during construction, Six Flags New England may not debut its attraction until next year.

Sponge Bob Squarepants  Rock Bottom Plunge - Nickolodeon Universe

http://www.nickelodeonuniverse.com/

Wow!!  Now, Mall of America is a destination in itself, but they have really stepped up their game. They have completely reinvented, what was once known as Camp Snoopy to present  Nickolodeon Universe, complete with hip, trendy rides that kids of all ages can enjoy. The main event in this arena is Sponge Bob Squarepants Rock Bottom Plunge. This roller coaster vertically ascends riders up to 67 feet before plunging them, vertically, into a vertical loop, a diagonal loop, heartline twist and sharply banked curves. This attraction will definitely produce screams that will be heard across the mall.  The Bottom Plunge is just one of many white-knuckling  thrills to be  experienced, all indoors, at this remarkable mall.

Behemoth  - Canada's Wonderland, Vaughan ON

http://www.canadaswonderland.com/

Finally!! Canada's Wonderland entered the hyper-coaster race with its latest addition, Behemoth. This 230-ft tall scream machine was built by B&M and will pack a powerful punch with eight steep, airtime-producing drops and several highspeed twists and turns. The first drop is estimated to be 75 degrees, which will definitely get the adrenaline flowing as a speed of 77 mph is reached. The ride will also feature prototype open-air seating that will allow the riders to experience an unobstructed view of all thrills encountered.  Behemoth is being billed as Canada's biggest, fastest, and tallest roller coaster.
