Hello friends.
It has been a while. I've missed you.
Just
wanted to let all of you know what I ( Logan) have been up to since the
mighty Dead to Fall has disbanded. Since I don't even know who was who
in Dead to Fall, I was the guitar player involved in a lot of the
writing for Phoenix Throne and Are You Serious?
Blue Ox is the
main new project I've been working on, and it is coming along very
nicely. Although it would probably be easier to just check it out (
www...myspace...com/blueoxmn
), I'd describe it as a stripped down, more raw, heavier, more evil,
and more intense variation on some of the stuff I did with Dead to Fall
and other projects (Nehemiah & Coma Eternal) before that. Throw in
some bluesy swagger and you're right about there. We also tend to stick
more to the bar crowd, avoiding a lot of the overused cliches that are
the common pitfalls of many "metalcore" bands today and striking a
closer resemblance to the better metal and hardcore bands we grew up on
(Disembodied, Coalesce, Converge, Botch, Pantera, Crowbar, Entombed,
etc, speaking for myself).
If this sounds like something that you might be into, we'd be stoked if you'd add our myspace ( again,
www...myspace...com/blueoxmn
), or at least check out the tunes we have on the page. The top two are
both demos done in December since I've joined, and the other ones are
from the bands first (and very excellent) full length.
****We
will be playing our debut Chicago show this Saturday November 7th and
Ronny's in Logan Square. **** Details can be found at our myspace page.
We also have ten songs completed that we are putting the finishing
touches on for our debut full length that we will be recording soon.
I'm stoked to show everyone what we've been working on, we are all
beyond pleased.
Again, if you're at all interested, add us and we will keep you up to date on our progress.
Thanks for reading
Logan & Blue Ox
PS
-Hardcore fans would do well to check out my other band Much Worse also
-- think Minor Threat, Slayer, and Motorhead. I'm doing bass in this
band and we just recorded our first 7 inch, the b side of which can be
heard at our Myspace. Shit shreds, that's all I can say.
