                      EVERGREEN // APOCALYPSE 1861....

I've always been interested in the American Civil War of 1861 to 1865... Why it happened, how it happened & what could motivate family members & close friends to take up arms against each other...

In contrast to the horrendous loss of life, casualties & destruction on a mass scale some great music was written by both sides... Marches, ballads, even songs with humor... Many of these are still performed today...

The track Apocalypse 1861 was quite heavily inspired by the music, the times & events of 1861 to 1865... As well as new original music I've included various elements & FX to represent the atmosphere of Civil War & to try & paint pictures within the track...

The words *Evergreen* were written by Angelica with a few added embellishments by myself...

The track title *Apocalypse 1861* was taken from a speech given by black abolitionist Frederic Douglas who referred to the Civil War as an American Apocalypse... The poem title *Evergreen* is taken from the historical cemetery in Gettysburg... The images here show the cemetery, built in 1854 which houses the graves of many who died during the 3 day battle.

Thanks for reading... Thanks for listening & most of all, thanks for your continuing support
