I haven't blogged in a hot minute because the Grim Reaper was depressing and dogging my ass, and preventing me from "bringing the rock" as Master Joe Travers says...(more about him and his "Zappa plays Zappa" concert @ the Wiltern  later..) Anyway...Maynard James Keenan and the boys proceeded to rip the top of my skull off with maddening riffs and quick syncopated changes that only studied Indian raga musicians, such as my idol, the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, can anticipate. Of course, if you are like me, you have been geeking out this whole time, learning all the changes of the entire band..air drumming, air bassing, and air guitaring along with all the crazy syncopated changes they do. Most important for me was checking Maynard's vocals...what a master! Holy Shiz!!!!!!!!! Singing along with TOOL and A PERFECT CIRCLE have actually made me a better singer!!! Oh yes it is true!! You can tell he is a musician (he plays bass..) by the way he moves to the music..along with the circle of light projection that rivaled any Grateful Dead show. He did all of my favorite songs, but I loved it when he screamed "flush it all away!!" to all those junkies with short memories and anorexic insecure actresses..FLUSH IT ALL AWAY!!!!!!!!!!  Every music performer from RAP to ROCK needs to be checkin' for Maynard James Keenan's stage presence game...he has it on LOCK!!! This is a picture of me rocking my "Brian Johnson from AC/DCLOOK", but with braids, yo...I gotta b me!!!!! You can tell I am soooo excited, and folks, unfortunately that's not often lately for live shows.
