Taking place during the Devious Indie Fashion Experience
Fashion In Motion Part III
In December 2009

Just in time for Christmas shopping, ShopDevious.com invites you to participate in a fashion experience unlike no other. It will thrust you into the realms of the fashion world, simply by being you, fashion minded, a creative soul, open for business, ready to make money, spread joy and help spread fashion! This will be a day of entertainment, shopping and demonstrations, with music blaring from the roof top and live fashion mannequins lining the Historical Route 60. It will be a daytime event with lots of people. You can demonstrate anything you’d like to teach, explain or boast about! It should be fashion, business or food related of course. You will have a booth to set up shop for free if you partake in the fashion show. I encourage you to bring stuff you like to make, so you can take orders for purchases. If you wish to sell items at the event, for legal reasons, a few of your items must be placed in the store beforehand. Plus the purchases and money transfer must be made inside the store, unless you have a mobile vendors permit. We will pay out all cash sales at the end of the day minus the sales tax. Credit card sales will be paid out after 31 days.

Earlier this month Fashion In Motion Part II took place during the Grand Avenue Festival and over 500 people came thru. There was lots of media and this next show is sure to be the same, with many more attendees. There will be comedians doing stand-up comedy in front of the boutique in between fashion sets.

How much does it cost? If you place custom items in the fashion show, you won't pay any $, but instead you would barter with something you can offer to the live mannequin modeling; Fashion In Motion Part III. Here’s how its done…If you are a fashion designer and have some friends that normally model for you, as long as you had 6 models, you could partake in the event for free by allowing us to pair you up with a fashion accessories designer, maybe a purse designer or a jewelry designer. The possibilities are endless. If you’re a designer and can provide make-up application, you can partake in the show and we will partner you up with designers to complete your look on the runway. If you’re like most fashion designers, you probably have a group of people you like collaborating with, and in that case I invite you to bring your own set ready to go and you all can take up shop together in the same area. If your new to the industry, and you have items you wish to place in the fashion show, but don't have any connections or services to offer; you can offer your time, just volunteer for 4 hours of your time to help us prepare and you will get a free space, your items in the fashion show & you will benifit from all the publicity and marketing. I want to make participation in this as easy as possible, to promote as many people as I can, those who don’t have access to large amounts of publicity, marketing, sales experience or access to taking part in festivals of this caliber without spending over $100 on a space. This will be a massive production, with great exposure, lots of foot traffic and unlimited possibilities for nearly nothing, just a little time and effort on your part.

I encourage those out there who just doodle in creative expression to come take part, you can teach, sell or do anything else you can think of (so long as its legal)! It may lead you to a very rewarding side job. If you teach anything small business related, fashion related, food related or if you just want to explain how your item should be worn or better yet want to teach people how not to dress, COME ON OUT! We have a space for you.

We are also looking for mystical, thought provoking, whimsical, funny or playful entertainers to line the Historical Route 60 and entertain for tips. If you wish to take part in this event please email sassi@deviouswigs.com with the phrase “attention: FIM” in the subject line and include a phone number, links to your work, photos or portfolio and a short introduction of what you wish to do at the Devious Indie Fashion Experience. No need to worry if you don’t have any of the above, just make contact. For all practical purposes we would like to see a sample of some sort. It doesn’t have to be live either.

Please pass along to all you think might be interested and please repost!

Thanks!

Anna Marie
