So here they are up on the Page 45 wall, signed by Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman.

(please excuse the awful spotlight reflections!)

They're ever so slightly rare.

Would you like them to be yours? Free of charge?

If so, read on....

This September in the Page 45 Mailshot (you are signed up for those, aren't you?), we printed the following letter from Craig Dawson, and a more kind and generous man you'll never meet.

afternoon all,

just wondering if you lot might be interested in a little offer i have for you...

...anyway, some time ago, i bought one of todd klein's prose prints of the alan moore piece "alphabets of desire" - its signed, and from the first run.  a lovely thing, it is.  so, i paid my money, and frittered away my days waiting for it to turn up...

...and nothing!

so, i wrote to todd, and he very kindly sent me another copy, which arrived promptly.  however, bizarrely, when trying to rescue my cat from a particularly fierce shrub in my garden, i found that my postman had hidden the original poster-tube in a flower bed, where it had sat for some weeks.  anyway, on inspection, all was well, and i sent todd some more money, as i now had two, and i arranged for them both to be framed.

then todd only went and did the same thing with neil gaiman, and so, i thought, it'd be nice to have a pair, so i ordered two of these (signed and from the first run) - i got these, with no problem, and had them framed as well.

then sanity struck - why did i need two identical pairs of prints?  so i have wracked my brain to find someone who would appreciate these lovely things, and, i was wondering if you would have any use for them?  i do not want any money for them, but wondered whether you could have them for the shop, or auction them for charity, or a competition, or something like that.  i can drop them in the next time i come over (i've been saving up again) which should be sometime this month, if you're interested.  if not, never mind.

the quid pro quo is that i am going to need someone suitably patient to walk me through the last few marvel crossovers, as i am a little bit bewildered in where to start.

right.  there you go.  let me know, anyway, and i'll pop in soon with my wages!

take care,

craig dawson

Craig did pop with his wages, which we swiftly relieved him of. I had to help him carry the bags up to his car (I do need the exercise, yes, and I see you've put on a few pounds, so shut up).

Also, good as his word, Craig very kindly dropped these two beauties off. Come in and read them sometime. Glorious.

So the question is, after we've had them on display for a while, would you like to own them? If so, please make sure you've signed up for the Page 45 Mailshot (email
page45@page45.com with "Add Me To Your Glorious Mailshot" in the subject header) because that's where we'll tell you how. We had a bit of an email implosion a few months ago and lost some addresses, but we've been rabbiting on about the best comics in town twice a month as per usual, so please sign up again and let us know which months you missed.

I, for example, missed October. Almost all of it. I was working on a Very Secret Project. The biggest Page 45 Secret Project since we opened. I still am.

That too will be announced in the Page 45 Mailshot - within the next month, I very much hope. And then we'll announce another. Seriously, I swear on my wine cellar, so now you know that I'm serious.

We're currently counting down now to our 15th Anniversary on October 17th 2009, and it's going to be a very busy twelve months.

Oh, the portrait I mentioned in the title?

I'll get to that in a couple of days. Do pop back again!
