Well I'm done for the year

Finished my first year of my Master's Degree. Went well (I think). All I've got left are two quizzes which should be easy.

What am I doing with my holidays? The same thing I do every-year - read books, play computer games and stay the hell out of the sun.

Speaking of computer games:

Borderlands: Fun game. I don't think it will ever become a classic for me, but it seems to be well worth the money my brother paid for it. It was a gift from him, which was nice. Co-op is fun. I am worried about how long it will last though.

Dragon Age: Origins: Another great RPG from bioware. Word of warning though - the game is murderously difficult if you try to play it in "real-time". To stand any chance of getting through even the beginning areas of the game, you are going to have to use the "pause" feature a LOT, in which you pause the action to issue commands before resuming the action. So far it's been a great game - the only issue is with the navigation - some quests don't give markers so you have to blunder about before you find where you have to go.

MW2 is coming out. I am uncertain as to whether or not I'd buy it. They've taken away dedicated servers from the PC edition, made all multiplayer matches 18 players max and taken away all mods and console commands. I suspect the PC edition is nothing but a straight port of the console version and that they were too lazy to change it.

As for the news - you probably know of the US army base shootings. The media is tip-toeing around this, and for good reason. The last thing we need is another round of hate crimes against muslims, like we saw after 9/11. Personally, I have little doubt that this man did shoot out of some bizarre need to "take revenge" on the US for the Iraq and Afghanistan war. But he doesn't not represent islam and he does not represent muslims. I know people are upset, but let's not let this get even worse.
