Sorry this whole blog is weird and gray. I can't seem to fix it. You can sign up for my regular newsletter by joining my mailing list. The box is on my myspace page or you can go to www.monasterling.com. Some day I will understand computers or pay someone else to.
what's new in my world
Still no new shows. I'm sticking to my diet of working on the
CD and working on how to promote the CD. Yeah, sure it's a little bland sometimes
but hopefully the payoff will be worth it. I have a tentative release date.
Mark March 18th on your calendars (yeah it's a Wednesday, what of it?!). While
you're at it you can mark that it's my dear friend Russell's birthday. Since
I'm terrible at remembering that, maybe this year it will help jog my memory.
what's cool in my world
Hot chocolate and toast. Anyone who knows me knows
I love hot chocolate and toast. I would marry hot chocolate and toast in a
heartbeat. As soon as the weather turns I get a big ol canister of Swiss Miss
with mini marshmallows, pop a few slices of bread in the toaster and voila!
The best meal EVER. The trick is to put loads of butter on your toast and
to slice it vertically into four slices. Then you dip the toast into the hot
chocolate and eat it. It's seriously the best thing on a cold day.
My dog. My dog is a border collie. She's
17 years old, deaf, partially blind, with bad hips, a bad back and the worst dragon
breath you have ever smelled. It's extra disgusting because her breath is
hot AND stinky from about 5 feet away. Sometimes she will walk up to a wall
and stand in front of it, waiting for someone to magically make it open so she can
go out. She also gets weirded out when sees her reflection in the glass doors.
Every morning when I see her sleeping I check to make sure she's still breathing.
And sure enough, every morning she is. She has been my partner, best friend, pillow
and protector for 16 of her 17 years. I'm hoping for at least another year
of her stinky hot breath on my leg.
what you can do
It's the holiday season. My favorite time of year.
Christmas lights and presents (oh man do I love presents) and eggnog. I can
hardly stand it I love it so much. What you can do for me is enjoy it.
I know the economy sucks and times are tough. So you can skip buying me a present this year and just kick back with some hot chocolate and toast. Of
course, the best present that I know of is you. Yeah, I said it. I want
time with friends, family, fans, freaks....errr..okay I was on a roll with my 'F'
alliteration at that point. Still...the best present that I can think of is
spending time with the people you love. Or the people you like if you're squeamish about the big L. So we all may not have much money in our pockets, but I have a giant can of Swiss Miss and a whole loaf of bread and bad economy be damned!
I'm gonna celebrate and so should you.
what you get
Well, since we're not exchanging gifts
this year I will give you all my love and affection. I know what you're thinking.
That you have that anyways. But since this is the only present you're getting
from me, I'm going to add a little adoration in there too. And some good compliments.
Have I told you how cool you are? How amazing you are? How there is
no one out there like you? It's true. You are incredibly awesome.
Pass it on....
xoxo
