Current mood:  nostalgic
Category: Life

As far back as I can remember{after 17 yr old} I thought that 17 was my most fun year of my life to that point. I guess maybe I thought that because I was at the age where you were pretty much past that "having to prove you're tuff at every oppurtunity" phase and you're at the "I'm just getting fucked up and chasing pussy and money phase"{when does that phase end exactly?}So you could basically do whatever you wanted and my crew was like 12 deep and I rolled w/almost everone's cliques ..everyone did that. Once our high school got past the stupid shit it was pretty tolerable if you knew how to tweek it{or sold drugs so everbody was nice}{wow, revelation}. But then I realizeed it was probably the constant thumping of fucking godly hip hop music that any person that ever breathes should have the pleasure of growing up/into. Look @ the albums that came out this year..and that's just a snippet...case in point.

GravityAll Eyez on MeFiring Squad

At the Speed of LifeWrath of the MathStakes Is High

The LPATLiensLegal Drug Money

The New World OrderDr. OctagonecologystEndtroducing.....

The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory NocturnalDa Storm

That's some heavy hitters right? I know damn...that's gotta be about it,... right?

Oh wait and here were my heaviest end to end burners......these are the albums that soundtracked the {alleged...I think I remeber it being pretty decent}best year of my life{in reality...the best music year of my life{arguably 93'was close}.

 It Was WrittenMuddy WatersReasonable Doubt

The ScoreHell on EarthSoul on Ice

Of course the creme de la creme......My favorite album of my favorite year....Bought with my first checking account...Just moved to Pittsburgh...opened it w/50 bucks...went straight to SAM GOODY and copped 245 dollars in CD's and tapes. Here it is the crown jewel of that purchase and the Cd that put me down to my favorite group in hip hop...the live show clinches it over the other close contenders.

Illadelph Halflife

Perfect Album. Go get it if you don't have it.Go see them live.

Peace.

There are two notable things that I thought was I was reading your blog, and neither of them has anything to do with your point. In fact, I think it's a sure sign that I may need to start doing drugs again - LOL.

The first thing was this: I have The Fugees "The Score" on TAPE. Good heavens. Why am I holding onto these things? Do I really think the "boom box" is going to make a comeback? Perhaps I just assume that my next car might be a 1980's model? Really, is there a good reason for keeping a TAPE?!?

The second thing concerned me even more. I was actually going to click on the David Hasselhoff link and listen to it. Just out of curiosity, but still. I'm worried there is some part of me that is still naive enough to think that David Hasselhoff's music might be enjoyable? Really?

I need my head examined. LOL

Oh, and if you had a 2Pac CD disappear between 10 and 15 years ago, I'd like you to know I still have it, it's still in good condition, and you can't have it back because I still listen to it and I'm too lazy to go through the trouble of illegally downloading it from the Internet - LOL

I found it in Schade's truck after we all adventured in the woods around the Over Hang and Blue Hole. Both of those places now come with a parking lot and a very nice, very public walking trail. The good ol' days are behind us.... *sigh*

Course, it just means you draw a crowd when you sit on the rocks beating a drum. It's not all bad. :)
