Large Public Rally Planned for Denver tomorrow, but will there be opposition to market-based solutions?
The new website 350 Reasons was launched by Rising Tide North America, Camp for Climate Action and Carbon Trade Watch in opposition to cap-and-trade market solutions to the problem air pollution via carbon emissions, such as that which billows from smokestacks of oil and coal power plants, and this opposition to cap-and-trade will be expressed during tomorrow's 350.org-International Day of Climate Action. Of course 350Denver has invited actions all across the board, and as the The Guardian/UK is reporting that 350.org has decentralized and invited folks from all over to use their creativity this year, thus opening the door to various views, so there will be myriad events in Denver tomorrow, and who knows what we'll see. Perhaps everyone should attend the rally in order to assure that voices on all sides of the spectrum that accepts the reality of climate change are able to be heard, read, seen, or videotaped. I'll be there hopefully to make sure those who are ignored by the press can still get the message out via the Internet.
