Hello Everyone.
Back from the dead, or perhaps not depending on the amount of grass pollen in the air over the coming weeks.
This is a long one..
EyeChild
For those of you who don't know
EyeChild are reforming. You can expect to see the usual faces on stage:
Jonno Lodge - DrumsThats right, as if it would have been anyone else. Biomechanical drummer Jonno Lodge is one of the most talented people I have ever had the pleasure of working with and has been a close friend of mine for many years. Jonno also co-founded EyeChild the first time round back in 2006.
Chris Gill - GuitarsThe Thin Lizzy Experience's Chris Gill has been a close friend and musical partner of mine for many years. His strong riffs, solid rhythm, and powerful tone will be paramount to the EyeChild sound. Chris was also a permanent member of EyeChild in 2006.
Mr JC - GuitarsJC is known for his fretboard frying antics in In The Name Of. JC and I have been very good friends and collaborated on many projects (including In The Name Of) over the past couple of years. I have met few people who can play like JC, so get ready to be impressed. JC once appeared on stage with EyeChild mk1 while Chris was in Spain and enjoyed the experience so much that he is happy to return as a permanent member.
JJ - BassPreviously Grindstone and Violent Angel bass player (also vocals, guitars, and many other talents) JJ is an exciting new addition to the EyeChild line up. I have been a fan of JJ's for a while, his massive bass tone and technique will ensure that you experience one hell of a rhythm section.
??? Keyboard Player ???As of yet this position is vacant, if you know someone who may be suitable or think you could have a good crack at it yourself please don't hesitate to get in contact with me.. I don't bite.
Finally theres myself handling lead vocals - no guitar for me this time round.. I kinda have it covered :P
So whats it all about then?
Well.. I'll tell you what EyeChild about, its about passing on a message.
Not a complex or cryptic message, its actually very simple.
We don't have any bullshit to sell you, we don't have an agenda, we don't want to manipulate you in any way. We just want you to listen, and then THINK. We just want people to open up and start using their brains.
Thats all there is to it really, we want people to stop taking the world around them at face value, to start questioning things, to embrace the human part of us that seeks the absolute truth and accepts nothing less.
This is the kind of thing you can expect from us in the future, more songs that provoke thought, and far less about Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll.
What about your last blog?
Ah yes! Some of you will no doubt be wondering whether I intend to practice what I preach or eat my own words. With this being a band made up of some of my dearest friends, theres obviously a lot at stake. And when first asked whether I wanted to take part in this venture I have to admit that I was initially apprehensive. So I went into my cave to set about finding a way to ensure that I wouldn't lose these people unnecessarily. I came up with "The Constitution of EyeChild" (Da, Da, Da, Daaaaa). Three simple guidelines that will hopefully protect us from the Evil's of the "Band".
Now this blog is getting pretty long so I'm going to wrap it up here, and post the Constitution as a different blog entry for anyone who fancies a look.
In Closing
I would like to say thankyou to you(!) for reading this and taking an interest, to all the guys announced above for making it possible and bringing me back into the fold, and I also want to make sure that everybody remembers
Pais Maycare. Pais was the original EyeChild bass player in 2006 and is still active in several projects on the scene (my favs include
Inglorious and
