TNS Deck Art Parameters & FAQ's

Hello fellow artists' here are the spec's if you would like to

propose a deck design for TNS Industries future series....

Size: Art should be designed at 100%

9 inches in width by 33 inches in length

For our metric brothers and sisters its: 22.86cm width / 83.82cm

DO NOT MAKE A SMALLER VERSION AND ENLARGE IT TO
9 x33!!!!

Design the deck from corner to corner,
not in the shape of a deck.

A 2" bleed around the entire design .

To make it easy for you,
we've made a
downloadable

Photoshop preferred

Save as: CYMK, TIFF

TNS INDUSTRIES

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

ABOUT THE ARTWORK...

Q: Can I send you the original?

A: No, we prefer that you send us a print ready scan. - really.

Goto Kinko's and get it scanned. If they cannot do it I am confident
that they can refer someone that will.- otherwise I may get coffee on
it and

I don't want that headache. Make sure they save the scan it at 300
dpi and save it to be opened on a macintosh.

Q: OK, I've sent you artwork. - When does it get
printed?

A: Your deck will get produced likely in the order it was
received,

however there are always deciding factors that can prolong the

wait....Subject matter, artwork not within printable parameters,
you

painted it with photoshop - you cheater!, it does not meet the

required criteria to get printed aka it just won't sell and we
won't

invest or put our name on it let alone yours.

At current we produce 6-10 decks per series about 1-2 times a

year.

We have over 100 artists currently signed on to be a part of the
TNS

project and it continues to grow. Do the math! - So don't get
butt

hurt if you don't see your deck made for sometime. Hence take
your

time when designing for us. Look at our previous decks we've made
and

ask yourself what I can make to stand out when I have my deck next
to

theirs. There are no time tables with us and if you think you have
a

better idea once you've submitted, let us know and we can swap it
out

for the better one. Remember it's YOUR name that is attached
to the

artwork. Make it count!!!!

Q: Any Do's & Don'ts?

A: DO remember you are designing a deck that may actually be set
up

to ride! It's not mandatory but you may want to consider how the

artwork is layed out so that trucks and wheels may not obstruct
the

piece. Again it's not required just a suggestion. Also keep any

critical elements within 2-3 inches from the edge. So if you have
a

signature at the very edge chances are it might get cut off when
it

get placed on the wood.

Send a small sample renduring of your idea. Surely something that

represents your style of art.

Since all artwork is by contribution, we certainly can't tell you

what you submit, however if you want to increase your chances DO
NOT

paint a flying weiner with wings or naked nun bangin herself

with a cross. Rule of thumb keep it at maximum rated PG13 and

both parties will be ok.

DO NOT make it political, controversal or religious.

When in doubt email us first!

THE TNS LOGO...YOU may opt to put "TNS" as part of the
artwork

when designing otherwise we will add our signature "Bolt" onto
the

art usually in an non-obstructive section of your artwork. Examples
of an artist designing our brand onto the art include decks designed
by Hiro, Christian Nguyen, Vincent Meyers, Joey Ortega and Jason
Ackerman.

Q: Is there any payment for my artwork?

A: Yes, the payment comes in being a part of something bigger
than

all of us. To be a part of a collective of artists that share the

same ideals. If you're making a deck for us, I'd like to think
you're

in great company that any tattoo artist would be proud to be a
part

of and we are damn lucky to have you onboard as well. Remember TNS
is

nothing without YOU.

This company is for the most part is an "Artist propelled project"
which means all profits go right back into the production of the next
series and to cover our promotional ad's and conventions fees.

Those of you that have seen us at conventions know this. There is no
lap of luxury in Like our friends at Tattoo Artist Magazine it's a
labor of love and we really dig putting our product out there
representing the aritsts' that have lent their name with ours.

As far as monies....nope. It's all by contribution. However the
perks, once your deck get printed will be in the form of an x amount
of complimentary decks for participating & any additional decks
(designed by you) will be available at cost to you + s/h. Decks by
other artists are available to you at wholesale costs + s/h.

ABOUT THE DECK:

How good are the
decks?

The decks are perfect. Strong, lots of pop, and really light.
Great for everyday use both for the novice and extreme skater as well
as being a beautiful piece of collectable art. Made of 100% Canadian
Hard Rock Maple, just north of our hometown of San Diego in Vista,
CA. (Probably the headquarters of today's most popular skateboard
companies in North America). - No Chinese wood here & those that
skate will KNOW the difference!

Where on the skateboard is the graphic
applied?

The graphic is applied to the bottom of the skateboard. Artwork
(some with too many color gradients to count ) is digitally printed
and applied by hand, using our manufacturer's unique digital Heat
Transfer process.

What concave are the decks?

All decks are by default medium concave.

Do you sell complete
skateboards?

We sell the skateboard deck only. We recommend visiting your local
skateshop for the rest.

- And that's how the money machine keeps on turning!

-Sorry for any typos or dramatical errors kiddos!
