>>>HELP WANTED<<<

I've a short film which requires some digital, post production love.

It's called "73" & is about 4 1/2 minutes long.

Shot on mini DV.

It's one shot...a chase cam...culminating in two gunshots.    Because the film is one take with no editing, we selected the best overall take (out of sixteen takes, I think it was).  But the "overall best" take doesn't make it flawless.

There is one sequence in which a camera (& cameraman's) shadow falls briefly across a beige/yellow wall.  If there's ANY way to take this out/mask this without too much hassle, 'twould be super mega grand.

Also, I'm curious re: the feasibility of adding muzzle flashes/muzzle flash spill light into a sequence...possibly with a really fast "hit" for one of the gun shots (the camera whips towards a victim as a character is shooting).   Perhaps a really fast blood splatter, which could theoretically be extremely stylized Verhovenesque, anime stream, etc?

Anyone know about such matters?   Anyone interested in helping out?   This undertaking should be considered highly experimental - and a dry run for films we'll be making sometime this year (a proposed paranormal piece may have extremely interesting & subtle effects work, one action piece might feature much gunplay, stylized violence, etc.).

My partners prefer a very raw, very gritty, very natural approach to filmmaking - which I 100% share - but I am CAPTIVATED by the subtle manipulation of films in post production, and am looking into "virtual tweaking" to bring about a greater sense of style and atmosphere.   In some ways, this is an audition to promote  an entire approach to our  film making.

If this ends up working well (interpersonally and technologically), you will find yourself more directly involved with the filmmaking process on future endeavors.  PLEASE BE WARNED:  we're very nice, very cool people (so we've been told by folks who have worked with us) - and we're a lot of fun to work with - but we are very demanding and very up-front about our thoughts.  If you can't deal with frankness & being pushed a little, we aren't for you.

We're unable to offer compensation at this time (no budget, no one got paid, etc.), but if a good working relationship develops & is maintanied, there will (without a doubt) be other opportunities to work your magic with us.  If any project on which we've collaborated leads to our receiving compensation of some sort, the issue of your compensation can be visited at that time.

Hopefully that day will come...but...until then...this should be approached very much out of curiosity, a desire to experiment,  and...above all...a sense of adventure.

Feel free to drop me a line via this MySpace account if this sounds interesting.  We'll need to see demo material of some sort, so send along a link if you've any effects reels, tests, etc. you think we might like.

We're doing a little last minute sound work, so we're not quite ready to launch into this phase, but wanted to throw this out there to see if 1) what we're seeking is even feasible w/ ILM-caliber budgets and manpower, and 2) if anyone is interested.

Thanks for reading, hope to hear from you, and all the best…
