Current mood:  calm

It's amazing how a song can lift or dull your spirits.  You don't even have to listen to the words; it can just be the sound of the melody mixed with the guitar riffs in the background that just makes you smile.  For instance, the song that I have on this profile says, "If I wake up on my own, something happens, please come home.  Wake me up before you go.  I hope you're happy on your own."  Not particularly happy lyrics, but something about the melody makes me want to get up and jump around.

Also, I have to mention something else that makes me smile when I think about it.  Sunday night, I became ill with a headache and stomachache.  My oh so wonderful girlfriend took care of me.  Something about that was extremely attractive to me.  They say that people are attracted to others who share qualities with their parents, and I think that might be part of it (Mom takes care of me when I'm sick).  However, instead of just getting obsessed with Amanda, I was driven to thank God for her first.  It was more of an instinctive thing than anything else, and I really didn't have to make myself do it.  Anyway, thanks to God and my woman, Amanda Leigh Lucas.

cheers,
c

As to the first paragraph, I totally agree. When I was going through depression, I listened to songs that made me feel even more depressed just like the night I finally and sincerely accepted Christ into my life, God used songs to reach me and tell me what he wanted to tell me about how I was living a double life around my Christian and non-Christian friends. Also, other songs have triggered emotions and memories when I've listened to them.

I'm glad you've found a good girlfriend and glad that you've thanked God for sending her to you. I'm also glad that she took care of you when you were sick.

Peace be with you.
