It is said that moisture evaporates into the clouds and returns to us through precipitation. The water in both the blood and sweat of Christ must have turned to vapor. I wonder if I have ever felt the same molecules that were on his face the evening before his crucifixion. Have I bathed in them? Or perhaps drank them? After swallowing the water from his tears, did it escape me through my own?
On the same note, but slightly more likely, I have a rock from the mount of olives that was given to me by a dear relative of mine. I wonder if the "men of Galilee" mentioned in Acts 1 were standing on it when they saw the glorious resurrected Christ ascend into heaven. Or, was this rock beneath Jesus when he wept over Jerusalem in Acts 19? Perhaps under Nehemiah's command, a family ran to the trees of this mountain to gather building supplies for the feast of tabernacles (booths) and a boy threw this rock at his brother. Maybe this rock saw the betrayal of Christ. However, it is said that upon Jesus' return, his feet will touch first at the mount of olives, and I would hate to think that I robbed this rock of such pleasure. Oh well, this is all speculation. Thanks for reading.
peace,
chuk
