argh, another month has flown by. i started july in a productive fashion, recording loads of songs for my as yet untitled fourth album in a very short space of time. progress was being made at an encouraging rate, so i decided my aim would be to get the whole thing done in less than the eleven days that it took to record my first album. annoyingly, as soon as i'd made that pledge to myself all manner of time consuming (yet necessary) chores starting rearing their heads. to date i have nine songs recorded and fourteen written for what is most probably going to be a fifteen song album and which probably won't be finished until mid august. such is life. i am quite pleased with some of the songs though, and i think it's going to be better than songs from the trade.

last night i played at the sunrooms open mic night as hosted by dave woodcock. i enjoyed it, it was great. i played a song from album four called nowadays we are so very different and i remembered the words and everything. here is the setlist:

dirty words & dusty corners
marty feldman eyes
i told him it was wrong
if you see her, give her hell
nowadays we are so very different
just like pigpen
tattoo
my true geology is not stone but fear
runaway

next i am playing at the borough hotel on the seafront. it will be on monday the third of august and the bakerlites and sophie burrows will also be playing. come along if you can.
