So we played our last gig under the guise of Porpoise on Saturday night. Thanks to everyone who came down. It's was drunken and brilliant. Great atmosphere. People sang and made ridiculous noises. We were charmed by the level of support people have given us over the last few years. Although we never 'made it' or any of that crap, we had a bloody good laugh doing it. Whilst other bands took themselves too seriously we just ploughed along practicing in our room in Cradley Heath. The irony was, the day we left there they put in a brand new PA and better amps!

Me and Dave always joked about the Porpoise boxset as i always record every band practice. So here's a little compilation of tunes that we played live and unreleased kind of. They are all lofi so sorry about that. They are enjoyable in a kind of rag tag retospective way. I think there even may be a track with Jad playing bass in there (he was sacked for suggesting we wrote songs about sexy gingerbread men ;0 ). Look out for such hits as 'It's A Party' (the original version is lost with Jon screaming Pop Up pirates), ' Short Sighted Sexy Cyclops' we wrote on request of Lee Pound and 'Winging It' which was the last song we ever wrote with Allan. it was going to sound friggin ace. Very Fugazi yet wasn't to be!

Anyway. Thanks alot to everyone whos helped or played with us. It's been a blast. I've started a band called Drop The Ball with some good buddies you can find our page here:

We are also on twitter if you like that kind of stuff. No music as yet as we are writing, but if you liked Porpoise it'll prob sound good to you. Dave is working on some solo material which is folky yet hip hop ithink, pretty out there kind of music. I think he's even learning violin You'll have to ask him, i'm pretty much sure it'll be ace whatever he does! Dr Jon Behendt now lives in Manchester, Allan and Harp still play in SVR and Gaz is also around, so you can catch us in the pub!

Cheers again!
Pete (and Porpoise)
