Last night, we started filming our scene for a new, indie film about Asian mafia called "Syndication." We had a great time, playing with the prop guns, video taping ourselves throughout the restaurant that it was being shot at, and joking around.
Apparently, some people thought it looked too real - and called the cops. At the time, we were inside so we didn't know that the police were assembling their special operations units with M16's, riot-control shotguns, and setting up snipers around.
Aron was filming a scene in the kitchen, where he was storming in and shooting up one of the main characters (Cao Cao). Me, Johnny, and Tyler were on stage pretending to play when another character opens the door and shoots me (I react by pulling out a sub-machine gun but get killed first).
If the police swarmed raided the place when we were in the middle filming (especially since doors slamming open were part of the script), we probably would have been gunned down - not to mention if we stepped outside with the prop guns by accident since snipers and a raid force was waiting outside. Thankfully, no one got hurt. We actually had a good laugh about the whole thing and put together this video blog of the night for you:
