My heart is broken at the loss of this kind soul. Kelly rocked like no one could and she was a huge influence for me. We had a couple of great years playing together in the World's Cutest Killers back in '87. Looking thru my stuff I was surprised at all the good press we got. Time flies on and Kelly went and had to get cancer and I didn't get to see much of her during the 90's and 2000's. Her old Girlschool bandmates and pals in the UK made sure she was loved and supported up til the end. What a tragic horrid day to learn she is gone - it is so foolish and idiotic to think there is time - there is no time, there is only now, and MAKE SURE the people you care about know it, every day and every way!! When I went to England at 17 years old and met up with Kim at Waterloo Station carrying my Strat in a Hefty bag to join her new band, I didn't know that a couple of months later Kelly Johnson would walk into the rehearsal room and I'd be out!! I taught them Tush by ZZ Top, they taught me Live Wire by ACDC. Cool chicks thse Girlschool girls. Never stopped rocking and found their place in the music landscape and held on to it. When Kelly and I hooked up later, she was the metal girl with the pop underbelly and I was the pop star from "America's sweetheart" band the Go-Go's who was dying to rock out more! I was lost and confused after the GoG0's broke up in 85 and Kelly was more than a friend, she was like a sister. We were roommates and bandmates, and plain ol mates She deserved to play her guitar til the end of time itself and I really really hate that disease. RIP Kelly I hope you had a peaceful exit from this life. Visit
