The dynamic duo of Casey "stutzmcgee" Benjamin and N.icky, a/k/a HEAVy, will serve as support for Motown recording artist Q-Tip on his upcoming European Tour.  The critically acclaimed band will bring their vibrant synthesis of Urban and New Wave sounds back to Europe for their first trip to the continent since 2007's "Dolla Dolla Bill Y'all" Tour.

HEAVy first took the specialist DJ world by storm with their 2004 single "Wonderlove (For Minnie)" (Kindred Spirits), which reached #12 on international taste making DJ Gilles Peterson's BBC Radio 1 2004 Worldwide Winners Chart.  Their collaboration with DJ Spinna on 2006's dance floor staple "We Can Change The World" (Juno Records) led to their appearance on the July 2006 cover of Billboard magazine profiling that year's top independent R&B artists.  Fulfilling the promise of their two earlier EP's, 2004's "HEAVY EP" (Kindred Spirits) and 2005"s "HEAVY Remixed" (Kindred Spirits), 2007's "JAzzmonEY$$"(BBE) found HEAVy moving their sound confidently towards the mainstream without sacrificing one bit og their well earned musical credentials.  The Q-Tip tour coincides nicely with the March 12th release of HEAVy's latest album, the retrospective "First Sessions" (Kindred Spirits).  "First Sessions" is filled with classic and unreleased material from the band's earliest stages and harkens back to its '70's soul, funk and jazz roots.  "For two kids who grew up in Queens like me and N.icky this tour is a dream come true!  We couldn't be more excited to kick off 2009 than by touring with a true legend like Q-Tip.  He's one of our biggest influences" says HEAVy's Casey "stutzmcgee" Benjamin.

HEAVy will return to Europe on its own headlining tour later this spring, dates to be announced shortly.

Here are Q-Tip's Tour Dates:

March 7:   Zurich, Switzerland (Aktionshalle)
March 9:   Paris, France (Elysee Montmartre)
March 10: Amsterdam, Netherlands (Paradiso)
March 11: Brussels, Belgium (Ancienne Belgique)
March 13: Dublin, Ireland (Button Factory)
March 14: London, UK (The Roundhouse)
