Current mood: betrayed
In her bid to become New York state's next senator, Caroline Kennedy, according to The NY Times" today unveiled "a platform: of sorts."
While she still hasn't actually held a proper interview on the matter, Ms. Kennedy was gracious enough to provide via email some written statements in response to questions about her here-to-for-avoided quest for public attention. Perhaps not surprising is her overwhelming endorsement of gay rights. "Caroline supports full equality and marriage rights for gay and lesbian couples," the statement said.
Additionally, she seeks to make law, an amendment providing that Rich Girls perform at not only her inauguration, should Gov. Paterson choose to overlook her lack of significant job experience of any kind, but of all subsequent inaugurations for NY State senators. Further, she is urging all potential constituents to "see for yourself" at our show on Saturday, January 3rd at Mercury Lounge.
You can read the whole article here (but honestly I wouldn't bother cuz I've already told you everything you need to know): http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/21/nyregion/21kennedy.html?bl&ex=1230094800&en=03cc697c3c1376e9&ei=5087%0A
!
P.S. Although she ran out of time while writing her email to the press, Caroline also wanted to let you that if you come to Mercury Lounge on Saturday, January 3rd ... you can get in for only $5.00 if you say you're there to see Rich Girls.
P.P.S. Caroline is not sure what other reason you would have for going.
P.P.P.S. Caroline almost forgot to tell you that if you bring 2 people to the show that have never seen Rich Girls, they will put you on the guest list.
P.P.P.P.S. That means you'll get in for free.
P.P.P.P.P.S. Caroline's press secretary adds: "Echosuite and Blip Blip Bleep are also playing that night and you should try to check them out too."
