64 days til college football kicks off.  Patience is a virtue, right?

We played at Joe's Place in Greenwood, MS this past Saturday night with our brothers in Inner 61.  Boy did we get an experience from this one.  Haha.

Let me preface this by saying that Caleb, the guy that handles some of our booking, worked out the details for us on this show.  He always double checks details for shows, like payment, if the club has a PA or if we need to provide one, etc.  Well, he was told that the club had a PA.  So, we get to the venue, go inside and start scoping out the place.  Look for the inputs, monitors, size of the stage, etc, to figure out where to setup, how to setup, etc.  Sure enough, there's a PA setup, but we notice there's a few things missing.  The club owner comes over and starts talking to us.

"We've got a PA, but we don't have any microphones or cables, and we don't have a sound guy or a door guy, so I hope you brought all that with you."

Huh?

"Oh yeah, and we've got two monitors onstage there, but they're both busted."

Oh my God.

Well, after the initial shock, we sat outside, drank a few beers with the boys from Inner 61, and started to laugh about the whole thing.  We scrounged up what mics we had (one vocal mic and a couple of drum mics for the kick and overhead) and definitely made the best of what looked like a bad situation.  We and the other boys consolidated gear and fit everything onto the smaller stage, and set it up where we wouldn't need to do a set change.  We just played on each others gear.  Haha.

Drank a few too many beers, and made it out to be one helluva night.  :-)  Definitely an experience we won't soon forget.  Haha.

We wanna go ahead and say thanks to Inner 61 for being so chill and for being awesome, thanks to Joe, the owner of the club, for being so nice and helping us figure everything out, and for hooking us up with beers throughout the night, and thanks to our best friend and touring buddy, Matt McClain, for being so flexible and doing whatever we needed that night.  Matt helped unload and re-load the gear, worked the door for us, shot some video, and worked merch for us.  The dude's a God-send.

Thanks to everyone that came out that night!  We're getting things hooked up with the radio station there in town, and we'll be back eventually!

So now, we're ready to get back into writing mode.  We've got over 100+ song ideas to sift through and make better, and we've got a whole month without shows to get it done.  Diggit.  Stay tuned...things are about to start kickin!
