This was a comment I made to a girl that wrote me about haters at her HS.
And the first line about Jeff and Jordan is not there to bash them. The girl had their picture under the myspace heading heros, is all...
I don't know about Jeff & Jordan as heros....
Mighty Mouse is a Hero.
UnderDog was a Hero.
Immodium AD has been my Hero.
Have fun, work hard, play harder, don't ever let anyone hold you back, never be afraid to take a chance, be true to who you are not who others want you to be, be real, have fun, be smart, live your life don't let life just happen, have no regrets, take no prisoners.
Anyone can have a job working in a cubical, look like everyone else, act like everyone else, do what everyone does and conform to what society tells you you need to be.
But it is the people who don't conform that change things in our society, they change the perception of what is acceptable and not, the push the boundries, they open the doors, they change art, music, fashion, they change the world a little at a time.
Most people don't have an original thought in their head. And if they really tried to, their heads would explode. So, they do one of two things.... They do nothing but repeat things they have read or heard without knowing anything about what they are talking about, and stand behind it as if God himself came down from the heavens and wrote what they read on the stone tablets like the 10 commandments, but it was really some message board where they pretend to be someone else. Or they steal the ideas of the nonconformists.
So, fuck 'em all and make your own path in life. And even though it is not the easy route, you will find that even though you started this journey alone and had been ridiculed by most, that somewhere along the way you will look back and see that you lead the masses and they are now following you.
Well, this turned into a little bit more than what I had intended it to be. But, it was written for you Julie even though I am going to post it in a blog, because I think other people will be able to appreciate it as well.
