INFO FOR BANDS AND PERFORMERS:
Headline bands, who are playing on their own for the evening, are usually expected to play two 1 hour sets: 8.30pm - 9.30pm & 10pm - 11pm. Although we quite often go on much later that as we have a late licence. Entertainment can go on till 2 am on occasions.
Setting up and soundchecking can start at about 7.00pm, but equipment can be brought in and setup anytime from late afternoon/early evening. We usually have a half an hour break at 9.30pm when people can eat or chill for a while. Food is available until 10.pm! Sometime there may be a support guest or guest playing in the interval.
We are currently in the process of changing our PA system and are temporarily asking bands to bring their own PA's until we install a new system. We can supply a PA and engineer, but for the being it will cost extra.
The Cellar Bar is a small, but comfortable club environment with a discerning and supportive clientel. Due to the acoustics and layout of the venue volume levels do NOT need to be loud!
If you have any particular requirements or queries on a technical level, then please email or phone us in good time.
Upstairs is the cafe and dining area and there is lots of comfortable seating downstairs in the bar and performance area. A third "chillout" room and an outside smoking area with seating is also available.
If you are interested in playing at the Cellar Bar, please contact Will on: 01239 612609 or 07715 903 180. You can email us here on myspace or email Di in the office with any info about your band: yseler@googlemail.com.
If you'd rather use snailmail or post items, you can write or send CD's, DVD's, publicity or photos etc to: Will Cobbett, c/o Steve Greenhalgh, The Castle Cafe, Cardigan, Wales. SA43 1HU. A demo CD is usually required, along with the relevant publicity info etc, before we will consider booking performers.
