Extreme OD – This  is the end

This three track EP starts with an immense display of power, from pinch harmonic  onslaughts over thunderous double-foot and accompanied bass work. Vocals deliver a spine tingling growl of mayhem as the track spirals into a perfect head banging opportunity, where a circle pit would also surely feature live. Towards the latter stages of the song, it offers more clean based guitar work, followed by a storming guitar solo, offering runs and licks of advanced nature and frightful speed. 

The second track begins with a sound similar to that of early Tool, which immediately caught my attention and I love to hear a band showing diversity in this way. Once again, musicianship is on display throughout with a wealth of talent clearly apparent in all aspects of the EXTREME OD camp. Both cleaner and heavier vocals are also experimented with in this track, which again inspires the listener to absorb the variety of sounds that EXTREME OD can provide to their audience. A swift pinch harmonic followed by a whammy dive always generates as a smile as this is a firm indicator that this band are nothing short of pure metal. 

The final track is a frantic display of fast riffs and technical instrumentals, with an overture of furious vocal work which leaves the listener begging for more as the EP comes to its final stages. A truly exciting effort from EXTREME OD and definitely a band I expect to hear making headlines in the future.
