hello there,
hope you're all fine and dandy, sorry to post this up so late, but we have been such busy bees that we haven't had the time!!
right well here we go....
let us continue.
after a day off to recoop our batteries (and buy all wellies and suitable tinned foods), five momeraths set out to glastonbury for the second stint of their dolly mixtures tour, squashed up to their necks with bags and instruments in the ever so reliable (so far) bandmobile... yaris!
glastonbury was a wonderful experience of fun sing alongs cheap wine, as well as three wonderful shows (two for on the dirty boots stage and one in the rough trade shop) and we also saw some amazing gigs too... claire and paolo saw mick jones singing should i stay or should i go at 3am in shangri la, micachu and the shapes, peter bjorn and john in the guradian tent, oh and blur were good too.
after five days in a tent we were back on the road again with acoustic shows with the very brilliant mexican kids at home and mr david gibb and his merry men in wimbledon, reading, bristol and at our 'dolly mixtures party part 2'.
in the week that followed we met up with our very good friends cocos lovers and played two shows in canterbury, one at the farmhouse for cocos ep launch, and the other at kents bestest festival lounge on the farm. this was divided up by lovely gigs in birmingham at the kitchen garden cafe and the railway festival, aswell as a short stint in tonbridge wells for some tea, an interview and acoustic set for bbc radio kent, and an enjoyable evening at the grey lady.
a weekend in derby with mr gibb and cocos followed with enjoyable shows at the emerge festival, the red lion and the big blue cafe before our ep party at kingston on the 16th!
we began the day with cake making, costume cutting and balloon blowing before we went to play our instore show at banquet records! we decided it be a good idea to bring cakes for the the kids of kingston who came along. for the evening's show at new slang we thought it best to make it one big momerath party! so we decorated with cups of sweets, floral decorations, helium balloons and hanging cards! to all of you who came down in fancy dress, you all looked amazing!
so there we have it, that is the end of the story of the momeraths dolly mixtures tour, thank you soooo much to everyone who helped us out with a bed to sleep, a cup of tea, or a smiling face at a show, it was lovely to see you all. also a big thanks to everyone who got us a show or helped us out too, thank you sam and jess and everyone at dirty boots, lucas at beep, mark and matt at the farmhouse, autumn at coo, jon at roehampton, rossco, doog, katie at twee in the park, david gibb and all at unicorn promotions, ahmad at the oakford, brett and tracey at the kitchen garden cafe, paul dunton, phil and his lovely family and friends in birmingham, stu at the railway in winchester, phil at bbc kent, cocos lovers and everyone at smugglers and gtmixtape!....
oh and you too : )
love
the momeraths
