Well, we left off leaving Slovenia and entering the cold and darkness of the north. And cold and darkness there was, cause our arrival signaled the forces of nature to reverse spring and send a beastly snow storm that we had to deal with day in and day out for the next week or so. It felt like it just stopped over Germany and as we were crisscrossing the country, we were in and out and in and out of it, every day, kind of like a surreal scarry flick.
Berlin and Cafe Zapata- exciting to play new venue in the heart of Mitte, new faces, new people, loved the respect this new discovered audience payed to what we did. There were some quiet moments in the set when the only thing you could hear in the room was Mario’s guitar and people breathing, it’s beautiful when it happens like that. Then Hafenklang in Hamburg, fabulous to see again people that we know. Thanks Lars and Zeery. Club is in a new location in the heart of Altona, sounded great, people were excited and we had a ton of fun. Then wake up and catch the ferry to Denmark, show at Global the same night. Wonderful club, amazing crew including our old frined Jo, who did the visuals behind us all night long. Thanks to everyone that came not just from around Denmark, but from Sweden to be part of great show that night. And just to decompress, the after party at Stengade 30 was off the chain, with South Africa’s Sweat.X, we danced our asses off. Drank a bit too much too. Hangover on the way to Luebeck the next day. But we have so many friends at Treibsand, it was like going home. Again. Easter weekend kicked in on top of everything else. Inge, thanks a million for everything. We love Cologne- it’s not just that the Underground is an awesome place to play, not just that the show was exciting and audience a riot, but we were able to hang out with Ela from Lucha Amada, our old booker, who arranged the Istanbul shows. This and a healthy doze of ishkembe nearby can make any non- vegetarian feel like million bucks! swear to god, we’ve tried ishkembe everywhere, but this little always open restaurant has it the best... And off to Muenchen, of course, through the snowstorm. Great club, great people, amazing audience, what else can you ask for. Thanks to our new booking agent, Sabine of IBD, for the choice of venue there and for everything she did for us at the tour in general. Leipzig is the town where we always go with an open heart and working with our good friend Tops is the highlight of the german tour. All the time and every time. The surprising thing is that every time we play in Leipzig we have a completely different audience, ever changing and unquestionably great. Thanks to everyone there, who makes this city feel like home away from home. Long drive through, you guessed it, the snow storm got us all the way west to Freiburg, for an intimate show on Monday night at Cafe Atlantic. Great supporting bands and good people, what can you say. Oh yeah, in the process, due to a major accident in front of us we got stuck somewhere in East Germany on the autobahn for 2 hours in bitter cold. Bored, we had to get out of the van to smoke in what someone described as total "vukojebina". Sorry, there is no english word to describe the desolation and climate conditions better than that. And off to Bern. ISC is may be one of the best clubs of this size around, looks and sounds like a million bucks and functions like a swiss watch. Our deepest gratitude to everybody involved in the show production there and mainly- to the heartful audience and their warm welcome to our music.
And off to Bella Italia- thanks to Barley Arts and their support in the last year or two, we finally had a chance to work in Margera(Venezia), Forte Prenestino (Roma) and of course, our favourite Bloom in Mezzago (Milano). Aside from the fact that the PAs in the first two were way to "Shocked" and slowly died thoughout our set, we had amazing reception and a great time.
Shit, this tour seems like a never ending journey... Will have to take a break before part three...
