This is what I liked about Michael Jackson. Call him weird, call him eccentric, but the man was no dummy and he would step if needed to.. I am including a story we covered the day after Michael Jackson was in Harlem where he called out Tommy Mottola and Sony Music. He said Mottola was a racist which was bold at the time...

He definately broke the video barrier. He got non-stop play for the entire 80s. The rest of the day was for Brit Punk Rop, New Wave and Hard Metal, but the one King, stood out like a sore thumb.

Thanks for the validation D....I've been laughed at for a long time for calling M.J a thug....but inside the record executive boardroom's that's exactly what he was. My theory about the media bashing he received was because he gangster'd The Beatles publishing. It seemed before that he was the media darling....after that he was "troubled" and "in debt". When I see the media bash a successful Brotha for something, I always cheer for the Brotha cause I know below the surface he's pissed some powerful white folks off ( ie: Dave Chappele). M.J's music business shrewdness get's slept on by many....like you said...call him weird all you want cause when it came to the Indusrty politricks...M.J was definitely GANGSTA!!!!!!!!!!
