I just got an email today with a nice review in the Jersey Beat Magazine.. Jersey Beat has been around for a long time. A staple in the indie / punk rock world that helped jump start a lot of bands. I can remember the first time i picked one up, i was 16 or 17 years old at the "jam room" at Cornell University. A small room that held maybe 40 or 50 people. That place was simply amazing. I think Lifetime was playing that night. On any given weekend you'd find bands like Green Sleep, Kerosene 454, Plow United, Suicide Machines, Weston ..(this list could go on and on.) I can remember always finding a copy of Jersey Beat there. 25 years later Jim Testa is still at it..Thanks Jim, it's people like you that keep this ship a float and as we all know the tides seem to be forever changing.. Other news? I just got back from a few shows in the north.. It was nice to get back up there and play. My first night upstairs at the Living Room in NYC was a little rough since i had no voice at all from being sick, but magically it came back for my show the next night there. Thanks to all you that came out and for filling the room on Saturday ! I played a few songs at a place called " Banjo Jim's" that afternoon, i really like this place.. One of the songs i played was " pearl" a new song about finding love without looking for it, because it's right in front of of you kinda thing.. this Memphis style bar in NYC was dead quiet when i played it .. and the people there were super nice.. It's my new fav. I also stoped into the Blinkin Lincoln in Philly for a few songs..cool new spot up on Ridge Ave. It was packed with some of the best writers around, check it out if you're in the area.. Be well, Andy
