a friend of ours name of karinne runs an excellent website called "fancy stitch machine" http://www.fancystitchmachine.org/. she's a renaissance woman of sorts (no she doesn't go to those fairs & drink mead). she posts many of her mind-products on the site, including but not limited to image cut-ups, videos of her choreography, & plays. one of the things she does (well) is play the uke & sing. she's got a full page's worth of covers -- dylan, eno, kris kristoferson, and a particularly good version of one of my faves, richard & linda thompson's "i want to see the bright lights tonight".
so when karinne asked if she could cover the song "losers weepers", i said, "if you can get all those words, hell yes." see, "losers weepers" is from the unreleased koester cd "losers weepers" (how did she get this bootleg???) and contains approximately 50 verses and 50000 words. it was my attempt at encapsulating the nyc experience in one giant whitmanesque jam. it's my ode to the city that i loved and have now left. it's my "sad eyed lady of the lowlands", but without the lady. or the lowlands.
so, here's her version:

and for those of you haven't heard the koester version, i've posted that as well:

and remember: it's a marathon not a sprint.
