Okay,
So I took off  a little time to breathe, and to let you digest all the info I've given to you. We're several weeks in, and I want to know: How are you doing?"

How is this transformation going for you? Are you beginning to lose motivation, or did you not have any at all to begin with?

So that's what Im going to discuss: Motivation!
Motivation is the psychological feature that arouses an organism to action towards a desired goal; the reason for the action;that which gives purpose and direction to behavior;the condition of motivation.

What? arouses an organism to action? Sounds kinda fishy to me. Here's how I describe it: It's what gets you off your butt to come down to the gym when you're already exhausted, put on your most comfy pair of sweats and baggiest t-shirt, sweat your heart out to moves that only a contortionist or She-Ra should do, slap each other a high-five for making complete fools of ourselves, and then say we'll see each other the next time. Motivation is the tool that we desperately need, but forget to include in our workout routines and eating. We have the want, but sometimes the wanting to lose weight, or the wanting to get fit isnt enough when we are lacking spunk and energy to finish a class.

So I want you to give yourself a second and think about some things that motivate you towards your goal..................................
And that may even begin with" What is my goal?" Is it to tone up the belly to do our Sports Bra Challenge? Or to lose 10 pounds? Or to get rid of the love handles? What is your goal? Is it small enough that you can actually see yourself achieving it? Heres what I mean- You may have a goal to lose 60 pds, but that's a long term goal. 60 pds isn't going to come off quickly- it took me a whole year. But.... if you think of a pound a week, then you've shortened your goal and made it more achievalbe. Then, you will be happier once you've achieved your goal, and can be excited towards the next.
But you won't get anywhere if you don't have something to motivate you. And I mean something like a picture, a pair of pants, something to hold or to see. This way, you can go back to your motivation when youre really needing it during those difficult times, and you can concentrate on the reason why you made a goal in the first place. I've had to change my sources of motivation many times. Because something would work for me for awhile, and then either I passed that goal, or it no longer motivated me like I needed it too.

I had this picture for forever of this girl in a leotard- dont ask me why, but it made me so crazzzzzyyyyy  to look like that in a leotard and it kept me going to eat healthier and stay on track. But then after staring at her for forever, it no longer persuaded me to do my best, and I started to eat more and go back to old habits.

Then I changed my motivation to something else and it worked. Bottom Line is this: Dont lose sight of your motivation, and if you need to, change it. Your motivation is what's going to get you towards your goal and to succeed. So make sure its something strong and really inspiring. Until next time............Sionara!

Aaarrrg! It is so hard to stay on track...I wonder why that is? When my resolve waivers, I start feeling so bad about myself, then kinda spiral down. Not totally destroying my efforts, but not helping them either. 1) my love for a cold beer (ok, I'll be honest, a few cold beers!) at the end of the day. i know this is a huge no-no, and I can abstain from stocking these in the fridge. It's when the hubby brings them home, my resolve holds up for...oh, I don't know...5 minutes. 'the devils way is the easiest way'. 2) as much as I love the feeling I get AFTER a workout, things like a packed parking lot (ie Monday & Tuesday) will harm my already waivering resolve to trek a block to get to my class, and I'll high-tail it back home. i know, I need to find that motivating factor. So much easier said than done...

Girl- I know where youre coming from. And I think that thats exactly what you need to do, is find something to keep you goal oriented. And the beers......... well believe me, if we had to be that picky, nobody would be thin except ethiopians. But can you try light every now and then? And if you know youre going to be having some that night, then you need to restrict your calories during the day to be able to splurge on your yummy beer. Eating healthy and right doesnt mean you have to sacrifice the things you love. If that happened, I would binge all the time on sweets because I have to have sweets everyday. But......... I eat a lot less at other meal times and I eat very good during those times so that I can have my special treat for the day. So try it.... sacrifice a little on your food to have your beer, and maybe your beer can be your motivation. Maybe it will motivate you to eat less during the day and have a beer. Once you get used to the new habit, gradually decrease it to one beer a day. You see where I;m heading? Do a little bit at a time so you have time to adjust to your new habit. You;ll be way more successful and you wont feel like youre missing out on anything.
Good Luck!

Well, I do drink light. And my food is rather healthy. Fruit for breakfast, salad for lunch (light or homemade dressing) and dinner is for the most part responsible. Mostly veggies and chicken or fish. It's when no one is down for cooking that I'll splurge on frozen burrito or something. So, there's not alot I can cut back on to see results. Which means the beers gotta go...light or no light. I don't stock sweets in the house either. Kinda surprised I haven't been seeing results, but I'm trying not to think of it.
Don't wanta lose that motivation!!!
